Planning For Fall And Christmas

Hello friends,

This summer was an amazing one. I was so blessed to spend over two months leading worship at VBS, camps and many other summer events for families, preteens and kids of all ages. I love creating the music and resources for churches to use in their weekly programming and ministry to kids but I have to admit it’s so fun to be out there on the road singing and leading kids in worship to their Savior. Their voices singing unashamedly to our great God is truly the sweetest sound I could ever hear.

I’m busy finalizing the release and promotions of my new preteen focused CD and DVD resource. It will release through my website in October followed by a national retail release in November. The new CD is titled “Stars, Guitars & Megaphone Dreams”. It’s 12 rocking songs of praise, worship and fun that I know will challenge all those who listen to grow in their faith. Stay tuned in the next few weeks for more info and pre-order options.

We are finalizing my fall and Christmas tour plans. I have several openings on Sundays in some cities where I’ll be out on the road which saves you big time on travel expenses since I’m already in the area. If you’ve ever wanted to do something special for your preteen or elementary students or have a Family worship night with the parents and kids together or even a fun preschool praise party this is a great opportunity for you to do so. Here’s the info on where I’ll be and have openings:

Branson/Joplin/Springfield, MO Sunday, September 11
St. Louis, MO Sunday, October 10
Grand Rapids, MI Sunday, October 24
Atlanta, GA Wednesday, October 27 or Thursday, October 28
Orlando/Lakeland, FL area Sunday, November 7
Louisville, KY/S. Indiana area Sunday November 14
Indianapolis, IN Saturday, December 4
Virginia area Saturday, December 11 or Sunday December 12.

Contact scott@behindthevoice.com or call (615) 794-5763 x5.

With the new CD release I’m excited about launching a brand new concert experience filled with the new songs and old favorites. Also, don’t forget about the “Have A Fancy Yancy Christmas” Concert tour. This event allows your kids choir or worship team to participate with Yancy on three songs and showcase the young talent of your church during an amazing fun-filled and Christmas themed concert for the whole family.

Thanks for taking the time to ready my post and for considering having me come and minister to your church and community. (Or pass along to your church staff info about my music and ministry and encourage them to bring me to your church!) I love sharing my music and I love sharing Jesus through that music to whoever I can.

As you wrap up your summer and enter into fall I hope that you’ll stay encouraged and keep on pressing on in whatever you do. “Whatever you do, do it with all your heart working for the Lord not for men.” Colossians 3:23! Thanks for being faithful to His call!

Blessings,
YANCY

Yancy’s 12 Days Of Christmas – Day 12

I can’t believe this is the last day of this year’s (we’ll hope for more next year) 12 Days of Christmas blog with stories, inspiration and deals at yancynotnancy.com. I hope you and yours are having a blessed Christmas season. I’ve had a fun week of being a part of an outreach my church does at the mall “Free gift wrap” for everyone. A great way to show love to those who might never walk into church doors. I got to lead worship for our senior high students at church. Yesterday worked on some production items for my Christmas concert I’m doing next weekend filled with you guessed it: Christmas music. Last night I attended my first Christmas party. Thankfully I have a few more on the calendar for next week so I’m pumped. It’s always fun to gather with family and friends over some grub and just talk. It’s so exciting thinking that we are less than two weeks away till the official day of Christmas.

The Day 12 special is going to last all weekend long. (‘Cause I’m generous like that.) So, through Monday 12-14-09 order the “Rock-N-Happy CD Combo” and save $5. This combo is 2 CD’s: “Rock-N-Happy Heart” and “Rock-N-Happy Dance Party Remix” normally $20 but with the coupon code: day12five you will save $5.00 and get both CD’s for only $15. It’s a great gift for any elementary or preteen kid on your shopping list or to just round out your Yancy music collection. The combo is listed under the remix CD HERE Hurry, this offer will expire at the end of Monday 12-14-09.

The last song on the record is called “The Greatest Gift”. I heard the song a couple years ago on a CD called “Jingle Jam”. (Which is a great, fun Christmas CD by the way. Download it at http://www.amberskyrecords.com ) Anyways, I heard the song and really fell in love with it. I immediately had the song on my list of songs I wanted to record. I’m excited that there are radio stations around the country playing the song this Christmas. If you would call your local Christian radio station requesting the song that would be great, just saying :-) “The Greatest Gift” tells the story of Jesus’ birth and the ultimate Gospel message of John 3:15 “For God so loved the word that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” That is the greatest gift we could ever receive. That is the story of Christmas. Don’t forget to share that story with those that need to hear it this season and always.

Today while I’m cleaning my house and wrapping some presents I’m gonna pop in one of my favorite movies “Miracle on 34th Street” the new version from the 90′s. I love the little girl in it and it’s one of the first times I saw the actor Dylan McDermott. I’ve always loved this Christmas flick and try to pop it in every year. I hope your Christmas is merry and bright. Talk to you soon.

Yancy’s 12 Days Of Christmas – Day 7

Wow, it’s been a crazy but good weekend. I did my first ever Christmas concert performing all the songs from “Have A Fancy Yancy Christmas”. It was a blast and exciting to finally bring the songs to life on the stage not just in the studio. I’ve done a few performances over the six weeks of a couple songs but it was my first time to do “Wonderful Christmastime” and “The Medley” as well as “The First Noel’ which is a personal favorite. So alot of the weekend was finishing all the details, production and rehearsing the tunes. Last night in Columbus, OH we had a blast celebrating the birth of our amazing Savior who was born for us. Thanks to everyone that was at the show. I hope it was a great evening for you and put you full throttle into the Christmas spirit.

Today, I’m in South Bend, Indiana. That’s right, home of Notre Dame but that’s not what I’m here for. I’m at LESEA Broadcasting to be on the Harvest show…spreading more Christmas cheer around. This time through the TV set. :-) As I sit here and look out the window, it’s snowing. That’s right…more snow in my life. It’s just following me the past few days. (Too bad I’m a summer weather kind of gal.) Anyways, I’m thankful for the opportunity to sing and share my music whether that be on a CD, live performance, TV show or the internet. I’m always grateful for the doors that God opens up so that I can share and impact lives with His love.

It’s Day 7 of my 12 Days of Christmas. Quick birthday shout out to my grandmother. Gram is 80 years old today. She’s an awesome, fun, loving and giving lady. I look alot like her and she’s actually how I got the name Yancy. My Dad’s father died when my Dad was only three years old. When my Gram finally remarried my Dad was a senior in high school. That man’s name was Paul Yancy. So ta da…..when I was born my parents decided to name me Yancy as a tribute to him. I laugh when people ask me what the name means thinking that’s how I got the name…it means “Englishman” and technically is a boy’s name. Yancy really is my name. It’s my first name. Named after my step-grandfather. So, that’s the story and I’m sticking to it. I hope my Gram, Ms. Betty Yancy, will have an amazing day filled with love and joy as she rings in year number eighty.

Tomorrow I’ll have more stories behind the songs on the record. But TODAY and just cause I’m feeling generous and it’s my grandmother’s birthday TOMORROW too, you can use code: day7remix to receive a FREE “Rock-N-Happy Dance Party REMIX” CD with any “Rock-N-Happy Heart” CD, DVD or Combo purchase. All you have to do is buy a “Rock-N-Happy Heart” CD for instance and you get a Remix CD for free. Gotta love it. It’s Day 7 of my 12 days of Christmas.

Happy Christmas to you.

Yancy’s 12 Days of Christmas: Day 3

Ho ho ho….man I heard reports of snow in places yesterday…..the winter season has arrived. I’m excited that it’s Day 3 during my 12 Days Of Christmas.

I was so excited to make my plans to record a Christmas CD this year. Thankfully I was thinking about it last Christmas and soaking up the season. I remember sitting around my music room in January and working on a few ideas to write a Christmas song. That’s kind of how “Merry Christmas, Happy Christmas” came about. In the summer I had been playing my guitar during a sound check in Arizona and came up with the guitar riff in the song but nothing else came. Then I had a few lines I had written stored away in my iphone. “I’m gonna paint this town red and green, with candy canes, snowflakes and sparkly things.” So sitting there one afternoon I started jamming out to the guitar riff and looking at the Christmas lyrics I had…..and cranked out the song. I wanted a fun, rocking, feel good song that said “Merry Christmas” and that’s what it is.

While recording the song we joked that it was an “angry” Christmas song but that’s just cause of the amount of rock in it. It was so fun to watch all the pieces come together and I have to say it’s one of my favorites. I think it truly is equal parts me and Christmas. I’ve had fun performing the song live already this past month and can’t wait to rock it on my Christmas tour that starts this weekend in Columbus, OH.

Day 3 special is a fun one. It’s all about preschoolers and the perfect gift set. Buy a “Little Praise Party” CD/DVD Combo and get a Preschool T-shirt free. The CD has 20 songs on it made for the youngest kids up to about age 5 or 6. The DVD has 12 animated music videos. It’s cartoon style videos of the songs for singalong fun and then the Preschool T is a burn-out T with the cartoon version of Yancy on it. It’s pretty cute. So today only you get all 3 items for only $30. Enter the code: day3toddler Code expires at midnight.

I hope your day is a merry one. Fa la la la la…..till tomorrow.

Black Friday The After Thanksgiving Party

As most of you know by now I love Christmas! In every way. I enjoy Thanksgiving especially the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I wonder if I enjoy the parade so much cause there’s so many Christmas things in it? I think I may have just touched on something there……I had an amazing Thanksgiving and I hope yours was great too. I’m in Oklahoma right now visiting my husband’s family here so it was sad to be away from my family but I’m getting to see a few special friends so that makes it nice. I have been blessed tremendously. God is so good. He is constant and faithful. He heals the brokenhearted. He strengthens the weak. I am sitting here this morning very thankful for all God has given me.

Black Friday shopping is usually always on my list. I’m normally up and at it pretty early to make my Target and Best Buy stops (a couple of my favorites.) Last year I got to start early at midnight in fact because an outlet mall in Nashville “Opry Mills” opened at midnight. It’s genius, the rest of the world should follow suit. Staying up at midnight is easier than getting up at 4am :-) All that to say I know many of you are out shopping today. Be safe. Stay awake! I wanted to have my own little Black Friday shopping extravaganza so here’s what I worked up: Two for One CD’s RIGHT HERE today and tomorrow using code: blackfriday at checkout. Whatever CD you order we’ll send you two for the price of one (or buy the 10 pack of CD’s and instead get 20 CD’s for the same price.) Perfect gift buying. Happy Black Friday shopping to you and yours!

Thanksgiving is now over. So let the Christmas season begin in full swing. Let’s start shining bright cause love has come!

Very Thankful,
YANCY

Leaves Are Falling All Around Me

Hello one and all.

It’s fall. I’m officially seeing bright colored leaves on the trees as well as a mountain of leaves falling onto and in front of my house :-) This past week has been filled with fun. Of course on Oct. 6th “Have A Fancy Yancy Christmas” released on CD in stores and iTunes. You can find it and the DVD here on my site. So far, I’ve been getting some wonderful emails and notes on facebook from listeners saying it will be one of their favorites of the season which is music to my ears!

Last week I was in St. Louis. It was the first weekend of the Super Start tour. If you haven’ heard of SuperStart you should check it out. It’s an event just for preteens (4th, 5th & 6th graders and their leaders). This is my third year leading worship for the tour. It was exciting to be back out there seeing some familiar faces, doing some new songs and just rocking out together while praising the matchless name of Jesus. If we come through your city I encourage you to check it out.

I’m about to start writing a devotional for students as well as continue making plans for my Christmas tour so…..please keep me in your prayers for creativity, wisdom, direction and rest! I’m so excited to share more with you about this as I delve in with both feet.

Just a reminder to you all. It’s so easy to be caught up with all the craziness that life brings. Tiny things happen all the time that just alter the course of our day and sometimes our joy. Remember that the Bible says “Be still and know that I am God.” If you’re anything like me this can be hard. It’s so important that we rest in the promises of God’s word. That we rest in the peace that He gives that passes all understanding. That we let the amazing arms of God wrap around us and comfort us and sustain us when we’re weary and tired. Whatever you do today choose to let the joy of the Lord be your strength…I know from experience that it can and will.

Have an amazing, fantastic day! Talk to you more soon.
