Yancy’s 12 Days Of Christmas – Day 7
Wow, it’s been a crazy but good weekend. I did my first ever Christmas concert performing all the songs from “Have A Fancy Yancy Christmas”. It was a blast and exciting to finally bring the songs to life on the stage not just in the studio. I’ve done a few performances over the six weeks of a couple songs but it was my first time to do “Wonderful Christmastime” and “The Medley” as well as “The First Noel’ which is a personal favorite. So alot of the weekend was finishing all the details, production and rehearsing the tunes. Last night in Columbus, OH we had a blast celebrating the birth of our amazing Savior who was born for us. Thanks to everyone that was at the show. I hope it was a great evening for you and put you full throttle into the Christmas spirit.
Today, I’m in South Bend, Indiana. That’s right, home of Notre Dame but that’s not what I’m here for. I’m at LESEA Broadcasting to be on the Harvest show…spreading more Christmas cheer around. This time through the TV set.
As I sit here and look out the window, it’s snowing. That’s right…more snow in my life. It’s just following me the past few days. (Too bad I’m a summer weather kind of gal.) Anyways, I’m thankful for the opportunity to sing and share my music whether that be on a CD, live performance, TV show or the internet. I’m always grateful for the doors that God opens up so that I can share and impact lives with His love.
It’s Day 7 of my 12 Days of Christmas. Quick birthday shout out to my grandmother. Gram is 80 years old today. She’s an awesome, fun, loving and giving lady. I look alot like her and she’s actually how I got the name Yancy. My Dad’s father died when my Dad was only three years old. When my Gram finally remarried my Dad was a senior in high school. That man’s name was Paul Yancy. So ta da…..when I was born my parents decided to name me Yancy as a tribute to him. I laugh when people ask me what the name means thinking that’s how I got the name…it means “Englishman” and technically is a boy’s name. Yancy really is my name. It’s my first name. Named after my step-grandfather. So, that’s the story and I’m sticking to it. I hope my Gram, Ms. Betty Yancy, will have an amazing day filled with love and joy as she rings in year number eighty.
Tomorrow I’ll have more stories behind the songs on the record. But TODAY and just cause I’m feeling generous and it’s my grandmother’s birthday TOMORROW too, you can use code: day7remix to receive a FREE “Rock-N-Happy Dance Party REMIX” CD with any “Rock-N-Happy Heart” CD, DVD or Combo purchase. All you have to do is buy a “Rock-N-Happy Heart” CD for instance and you get a Remix CD for free. Gotta love it. It’s Day 7 of my 12 days of Christmas.
Happy Christmas to you.

Yancys 12 Days of Christmas: Day 4
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime…….so what is a wonderful Christmastime to you? is it winter weather? Is it gifts received or gifts bought for others? Is it spending time with family and friends? I’m sure we all define it a little differently. Every family has it’s own traditions which is cool. I hope that however you define it you’re having a wonderful Christmastime. I love this season….maybe it’s cause we stop looking just at ourselves and spend a little extra time focusing on others. Whether that’s sticking some money in at the Salvation Army bell ringer or filling a shoebox with toys and basics for Operation Christmas Child, there’s plenty of opportunities out there for us to give. We are blessed so we can give to others. This season is all about giving….celebrating the greatest gift ever received.
“Wonderful Christmastime” originally was recorded and written by Paul McCartney. Obviously we all know Paul was a Beatle. This song was written after The Beatles but honestly how can you not love the English charm of Paul and his band mates. I was familiar with the song and had heard several covers by other artists and bands over the years. I have always loved the funkiness of the keyboards and synths that make up this song. It wasn’t on my first list of songs to do but quickly became a must on the list. There’s just something fun and special about the song. I think the song grooves along very nice…..there’s one friend of mine that lives in Missouri that says he puts the song on non-stop repeat. I was having a group of kids sing the song in preparation of my Christmas tour, they were dancing and having such a good and happy time singing along. That is what it’s about to me. This season is about joy. Joy is something we should choose every day. The Bible tells us: “This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24 “The joy of the Lord is your strength”. Nehemiah 8:10. Even when times are hard we can choose joy. When times are good we can choose joy. I hope you’ll find much joy wherever you are today…let your wonderful Christmastime begin today!
