Blast From The Past

I’ve been making music and touring for almost 14 years. That’s a long time :) and along the way life intersects with some of those precious people who heard me sing as a kid, teen or early in my career. Last night was no exception. I did a family event at Christ Fellowship in Palm Gardens, FL. I did a concert or two there in probably 1998 or 1999….some of the same staff members are still at the church. A lady came up to me and said “when I was in middle school you came and did a concert here. I bought the CD then and I’m buying it tonight too.” This woman is now 25, married with 2 kids. Her kids experienced the family concert last night. As she walked away and I teared up I was reminded life is full of journeys and circles. I am blessed beyond words to make music and be able to share that music with others. When my life intersects with these blast from the past it’s like little postcards to remind me of where I’ve been and where God has me now. A wonderful reminder to journey on serving God and loving others.

Dale Hudson is the children’s pastor at Christ Fellowship. I knew him way back when he was at FBC Springdale, AR. He was one of the first people ever to have me do a concert for their preteen group. He and his family went to my wedding. We’ve stay in touch over the years and I’m so glad.

Never take for granted the relationships in your life. Wherever you are today and whatever you do choose to love God and serve Him with all your heart. You never know when you might come across someone who knew you when and you showed them God’s love through your life.

I am blessed and extremely grateful!
Always,

Yancy

I went to that concert with my little sister, Caitlin. We both love your music and the way that you are using your life and talents to serve God. Never stop doing what you’re doing now: Living for God! We are both so blessed to have been touched by your music. :)

I love the words to your songs! I am a Celebrate Recovery Worship Leader and would like to sing your songs in our church. I am 57 years old and not a child, so this may seem strange to you. It sounds like you perform for children and preteens, but do you perform for adults as well? The people in my group are not children, yet I can’t help but feel your songs would encourage them greatly.
